Healthcare in Myanmar in urban and suburban area

One part of my work in Myanmar is the market analyse at the topic diabetes, that means we interview pharmacies, wholesaler, medical doctors and co-workers.

PSI provides primary health services in Myanmar through the Sun Quality Health franchise network. Franchise Network means in this case, that all Sun Clinics receive the same healthcare trainings and access to special service programs from PSI. In order to recognize this well, all clinics use a special logo (you will see this in the following pictures) so the patients know quality for medical support is good here.

To increase awareness of different topics like family planning, tuberculosis, HIV and Malaria prevention they have developed a lot of different program. This support has been the medical situation greatly improved in the last years 🙂

This is where a training course on tuberculosis takes place, which is held by a volunteer

  1. Great job, Michaela! But: if it’s a PSI production, why is only a part of the products rebranded as PSI instead of all or none? What is the concept/strategy behind this? Thank you for your interesting blog!

    1. Some of the product are free of charge, which is part of different donations and other products are sold, so that they are able to earn one money which they can invest in other health services
