Yangon and the first impression

Sunday morning 5:40 totally tired but happy after 24-hour travel time finally arrived in Myanmar. The Sakura Residence in Yangon (my home for the next month) is a nice building with small and bigger flats for expedites which includes swimming pool, fitness centre, Yoga classes and a small restaurant.

On Monday, we were picked up by Leah and had lunch in a Burmese restaurant – the taste and look was different to Asia food, but very delicious. During the drive throught the city we got a first impression of the city, the nice green parks and the golden Pagoden.

At the rest of the first week we had a lot of meetings and very good presentations so that we could better understand the scope of the work in Myanmar, all the different projects and teams are great.

Only the jetlag was not easy for me, I was each evening very tired and fighted with me to stay awake, but this is getting better now 😊

  1. Enjoy your time, even if it might be controversial sometimes… in any case a big life experience… mine was 1998/99 in Indonesia… sooo long ago… but still in my mind… good luck …

  2. Na, dann kann es ja jetzt nur noch besser werden, so ohne Jetlag! Viele tolle neue Eindrücke! Aber pass auch auf Dich auf, die politische Lage ist ja anscheinend ein bisschen unruhig. LG
